Well…. last Sunday was a very nice day for a walk, and so we decided to walk from The Gallery of Modern art to Stockbridge, along the Water of Leith.

There were lots of beautiful snowdrops and loads of ivy covered trees. There were lots of people walking lots of dogs, but the best dog was Maude, who could hardly help walking on her ears they were so long!

We got to Stockbridge and there was a food and soap and sushi and cappuccino and trinkity open market very lovely but rather outwith the normal sized purse.

Anyway… a lovely day was had by all I think.

Dear Tollies (esteemed residents of Tollcross)

I was innocently going about my lunchtime business, foraging for sandwiches and rushing to the Post office, all the usual lunchtime scurriement, when I happened upon what I thought was a surrealist’s prank. There it was… a huge fish-head minus fish body, lying on the pavement looking for all the world like a Dennis the Menace set up. I actually looked around me for the snickering individual who had perpetrated this gory occurrence. No one seemed to be skulking nearby, in fact nobody else appeared to notice this object of of arch oddness, so of course I whipped out my trusty cybershot and documented the freaky vision. A day or so later I was given some lovely strawberries bought from a retail establishment on the very border between Tollcross and Bruntsfield and this lovely crop of fresh strawberries seemed to contrast completely the odd pescatory experience from only days before. They say the past is another country, well I think your neighbouring community is another country, perhaps sometimes another planet.

I love both Bruntsfield and Tollcross and I am very glad of the diverse delights that both areas offer me and countless others, but sometimes I feel like I have walked through an invisible stargate around about the bus stop at the Links.

Bailey is now settling into his new home very well, and has easily found all the different parts of his fabby hamster home. He seems to really like his bed pod at the top of his house, and there in his little hamster crow’s nest he enjoys a snooze, a yawn and a bed-making scurry.

Thank you for a nice new logo it is lovely and spring like but subtley cute, it also looks very good in grayscale very silent movie of the moment theme thingy.

this is a link to it  and the company making it are called ManvsMachine who are very interesting too. I like the way it is being used in the little promo films in the flikry train timetable  flapping sign type way. It is also a bit like a shipping semaphore thingy too. It makes me want to do more branding design…. which is good…. and bad, good in that I love branding work, I think it is my fave graphic design thing next to advertising. Bad in the way I don’t have any real branding projects just now but I feel Karma will give me one soon.

I promised you a post and here it is baby, complete with slideshow.

One day the Rooster the Rabbit and the Goat decided to go for a walk. They lived very near to a lovely park called the Meadows, so they decided to go there and walk into the city through the lovely tree-lined lanes, leading the three companions into the beautiful old spired city.

The Rooster was feeling a bit grumpy, and guilty, for she had been pecking at the Rabbit that very morning, giving the lovely fluffy little scamp a very hard time just because her room was untidy. The Rabbit was enjoying being out in the cool fresh air and started leaping about, whirling and jumping for joy. When the Rooster saw this, she stopped, and stood looking around her realising what a beautiful day it was, with the sun shining in the sky making the white frost, lying on the grassy meadow, glow like a beautiful pale green sea. She looked over to the Goat and smiled, he was standing still, watching the Rabbit as she leapt about kicking up her heels. After a while the Rabbit stopped her joyful bouncing and asked the Rooster to take a picture of her with the Goat, then she asked the Goat to take a picture of her with the Rooster, which they did. Then the three of them set off walking again into the lovely old city to look at some of their favorite things there, the book shop, the gallery and the coffee shop.

We are about to enter the year of the Water Dragon on January 23rd so here’s hoping its a good year and not too turbulent.

A fantastic chaotic Christmas in London with the Miller clan!

Ho Ho Ho and a merry mad festive season to one and all. Just finishing off the year with an amusing little letter to those busy people at the Large Hadron Colider which has discovered or uncovered or found (not sure which) this new particle made up of a beauty quark and a beauty anti-quark!

My goodness are we talking mad fashion here or some hungry vegetarian scientist who made up the name whilst anticipating his nutricious and delicious lunch. Also the fact this particle is somewhat agitated by its arrival on the discovery catwalk makes it all the more amusing. I do love scienctist’s banter, it is so abtract and delightful, and they always deadpan it in such a cool manner. Good poets, they would make, me thinks.

“The new particle is made up of a ‘beauty quark’ and a ‘beauty anti-quark’, which are then bound together, people have thought this more excited state should exist for years but nobody has managed to see it until now.”

The fact that it takes a nuclear force to hold this beauty and anti beauty together is very telling, in this age of goodies, baddies and us poor mortals inbetween.

Please can you sort out your pricing.

I was buying coffee carefully deciding what size to buy, and the usual special offers were not on for my preferred brand, (which I will only say starts with a K), so I thought maybe I’ll get the eco style pouch that is supposed to be better as I can tip it into my own glass jar, saving the planet and a too heavy bag for me. But what did I find? the pouch version which is 50grams less than the bigger jar cost about 70p more!!!!! So whats up is this daft T**** protocol, or just a blatant selfish marketing ploy from K. They don’t really want to encourage recycling, they just want to use it as an alternative selling feature. Shame on you T and K.
